The MobileMiner application allows mobile device users (such as smartphones and tablet computers) to remotely monitor and control their cryptocurrency mining operations. The types of cryptocurrency mining that can be monitored are limited only to the mining software the miner uses; if they're using one of the major types of software that's compatible with MobileMiner, they can keep tabs on how their mining is going, be it Bitcoin, Litecoin or any other type of digital currency. The application's simple interface displays the mining rigs by name, the type of currency being mined, and the speed at which the mining itself is progressing. The application key supplied to miners upon signup allows them to access this information from their mobile devices without having to breach any security firewalls or forward any ports—both of which can create security issues. The chief developer of this application is open to miner suggestions, and has updated the application a number of times to improve the product. The only in-app purchase available with MobileMiner is for push notification and email alert capability. Beyond that, it's a simple application that allows digital currency miners ready access to their mining information.
The MobileMiner application was designed by software developer and consultant Nathanial Woolls. He released the app to the general public in July 2013.
